In the present issue of the Collection, Johannes Meinhardt proposes a journey through the history of abstract painting, from 1913 to the present day, seeking at the same time to make known the rupture that it represented in the history of art, to make the innovative character and other of the proposals recognized emerged in response to the decades-old threat of the "death of painting", to go through the subsequent crises and understand the "zero point of painting", the starting point of the new chapter in the history of abstract painting started in the 1960s.

Profusely illustrated with works by some of the biggest names in abstract art, such as Kandinsky, Malevitch, Pollock, Gerhard Richter, among many others, this publication also features unpublished essays in Portuguese by Yve-Alain Bois, Marcia Hafif and Robert Ryman.
