25 Obras da Coleção de Serralves
The catalog 25 Works from the Serralves Collection marked the launch of a new series dedicated to the Serralves Collection, in accordance with the Museum Management's programmatic principle of studying, enhancing and promoting it, nationally and internationally.
The series is intended to be a guide to some of his unique works and to offer a renewed focus on the history of contemporary art in Portugal since the 1960s, which is still little known by the general public.
Many of the artists whose works are reproduced and discussed are considered founders of the Collection and reference points in the history of contemporary art in Portugal and abroad.
A significant number of works have a direct relationship with the history of Serralves' exhibitions, several of which are carried out in response to the unique context of the Museum, the House and its gardens.
The selection draws attention to experimental approaches from different mediums, specific and transdisciplinary, to conceptual and formal themes that express the concerns and attitudes of some of our most important contemporary artists from the 1960s to the present day.
