Capture your creative ideas with our unique notebook, inspired by the sound piece É o que é/It is what it is, 2023 by Luísa Cunha.

This accessory, with Singer stitch finishing and 96 pages of Coral Book Ivory paper, combines utility and artistic inspiration.

More than just a simple object, this notebook in a strong pink tone, repeating the phrase "it is what it is" in light pink, is a collectible piece that is part of the product line of the exhibition "Anagramas Improváveis - Obras da Coleção de Serralves".

Developed in close collaboration with the acclaimed artist, this notebook and our entire collection pay homage to the unique sound artwork created exclusively for the New Álvaro Siza Wing of the Serralves Museum.

Be inspired by the creativity of this collaboration, collect notebooks from the É o que é/It is what it is line, or gift one to a friend who shares your passion for authentic artistic expression.

É o que é/It is what it is, 2023 is the first artwork encountered by visitors to Unlikely Anagrams, the exhibition featuring works from the Serralves Collection that inaugurates the new wing of the Serralves Museum (Álvaro Siza Wing) as a space dedicated to presenting Serralves' collections and archives.

Iconic of Luísa Cunha's artistic production, primarily known for sound artworks, it was specifically commissioned for that space and consists of the repetition of the titular phrase. Despite being strictly auditory, the artwork - audible in the passage between the museum's old space and its new extension - takes advantage of the space's architecture, its relationship with the exterior, and the movement of visitors it elicits. The phrase, spoken by the artist (Luísa Cunha always uses her own voice), appeals to a universal sentiment - a sort of ironic resignation. It is this coincidence between singularity and universality that underlies the collection of multiples and merchandise conceived from the artwork. Let everyone display, carry (or even write with) objects that serve as a sort of vessel for a thought we've all had without exception: IT IS WHAT IT IS.

Luísa Cunha (Lisbon, 1949) is one of the most unique and innovative artists in the Portuguese art scene. Revealed in the 1990s, her work has evolved across different media, including sculpture, sound, photography, and video, always starting from linguistic statements.
