Plate Stella, João Noutel
Member Price
“Stella” is an iconic decoration dish with lines and intense color paintings that resemble a face.
A limited edition, collectible piece, created by designer João Noutel and belonging to The Moon Program project.
The Moon Program became an opportunity to explore and systematize in a more regular and intentional and eventually more orderly and disciplined way, a set of proposals for thinking about the dream.
The complexity and strength of each material, of its own plastic language and therefore unique, are due to the limits of the drawing, instruments for measuring a certain common denominator, explored here as if it were a documentary testimony in which two central figures, one female and another male preserve a lunar space as a refuge from their routines, their daily lives.
The project integrates different supports and focuses exclusively on the theme "STELLA", 2019.
João Noutel was born in Porto, but lives and works in Lisbon. He has a degree in law and a postgraduate degree in drawing and printing techniques from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto.
The artist has remained connected to various artistic projects, in which he subtly and ironically explores some of the paradoxes of the human condition, (be it happiness, fame, illusion, tension, etc.) through complex narrative mechanisms, instrumentalizing drawing and the images, deconstructing them through a clean and rigorous plastic language with a visual impact, looking for possible limits to the graphic force of painting.
