This poster is related to the book “Um Realismo Cosmopolita”, 2015 by the KWY group.

The publication “A cosmopolitan realism: The KWY group in the Serralves Collection” is the second volume of a series of publications dedicated to the investigation and dissemination of the Fundação de Serralves collection and published on the occasion of the homonymous exhibition at the Serralves Museum between 22 May and September 27, 2015.

The KWY group – René Bertolo, Lourdes Castro, Christo, António Costa Pinheiro, Gonçalo Duarte, José Escada, João Vieira and Jan Voss – and the KWY magazine (1958−64) were the protagonists in the opening of Portuguese art to the international context and the adhesion to the new figurative languages that marked the art of the 1960s, considered by many to be one of the most stimulating periods of post-war art.
