Poster with representation of a photograph alluding to the exhibition “Thomas Struth: Photography 1978 to 2010”, exhibited at the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art in 2011.

The anthological exhibition, curated by James Lingwood, was the artist's largest ever exhibition and brought together works between 1978 and 2010.

A set in which the unique way of looking and visually describing the world stands out. On the opening day, Struth spoke with Ípsilon about the exhibition, the discovery of photography and the themes that mark his work.

Thomas Struth, is a German photographer who uses photography to build a mosaic of the world he lives in, thus emerging in his works several different themes, namely, architecture, nature, technology, family portraits, images of museum visitors, black photographs and white from the streets of Düsseldorf and New York, taken in the 1970s. The artist presents himself with a very rigorous and analytical work, not giving in to inspirational impulses or pressure in time.
