Poster A Roving Gaze, Cabrita Reis
Poster alluding to the work "A Roving Gaze", by Cabrita Reis
Poster that exists as a result of the artist's intervention under several layers of the work "A Roving Gaze", at the inauguration of his homonymous exhibition in Serralves in 2019 - giving this work a new look and another approach.
Pedro Cabrita Reis lives and works in Lisbon, and is one of the most famous Portuguese artists in the present day. Cabrita's complex work includes a multiplicity of media forms, from drawing with graphite and pastel, to large-scale painting and installations of an architectural dimension.
The flow between the materials used, maintains the unique quality of each. Sculptures become images when fixed to windows. Monochromatic articulated paintings lead to architectural elements or develop sculptural qualities. The Photographs that appear in the installations open up endless spaces of memory and reflection.
The loss of nature, as a reference, is the engine of the artist's work.
