The exhibition "To the Arts, Citizens!" Focuses on some of the intersections that art and politics, understood as action, representation or reference manifest today. Noteworthy are some questions that run through this relationship, which may be definable through concepts as activism, citizenship, memory, file, emigration, exile, ideology, revolution, utopia, iconoclasm, democracy, disaster, community, crisis, sexuality,environment, globalization, etc.. 

The second volume focuses on the presentation of all the works on display, including views of the installation in Serralves. It contains an extensive essay of the commissioners and transcripts of seminars and conferences that took place during the course of the exhibition. It also documents the historical and documentary section of the exhibition in which posters, magazines and artists' publications have made visible references to the politician throughout the history of art that precedes the generation of artists now presented.
