Catalog developed within the scope of the exhibition "The Sonnabend Collection: Half a Century of European and American Art. Part II", an important exhibition dedicated to the Sonnabend Collection, presented in Serralves from May 11 to September 23, 2018.

The two volumes of The Sonnabend Collection: Half a Century of European and American Art accompany the presentation in Serralves of works that make references to characters that are part of the memory of all of us, such as the tales of the Brothers Grimm, the Mickey Club, Indians and the Hulk himself.

Part I presents works by protagonists of pop art, minimalism, arte povera, post-minimalism and conceptual art.

Part II focuses on the use of photography by conceptual art since the early 1970s and by the generation of American artists active in the mid-1980s whose work is linked to pop art and conceptual art.
