This profusely illustrated monograph documents a number of sculptural works that relate to the history of 20th-century architecture, design, and art, particularly the heritage of Black Mountain College and the International Modern Movement.

The exhibition by Leonor Antunes at Kunsthalle Basel in 2013, entitled "The Last Days in Chimalistac", was the first large-scale presentation of the Portuguese artist in Switzerland. Within her practice, Leonor Antunes is involved with the history of architecture, design and art of the 20th century, creating complex but fragile installations and sculptures from metal, leather, wood and nets.

This publication focuses on the visual representation of Antunes' work, points out the fragility and beauty of the material itself, and talks about the artist's practical practice - how she reconstructs basic ideas and highlights not only the form, but the politics that come with it.

It includes an essay by the director and curator of Kunsthalle Basel, Adam Szymczyk, features some of the usual backstage figures, including Clara Porset, Anni Albers or Lina Bo Bardri.

Born 1972 in Lisbon, Leonor Antunes has lived and worked in Berlin since 2005.
