The Panton Chair in miniature stands out in the history of design for the absence of rear legs, and for being molded in a completely plastic piece, whose development took about 12 years for the idea to take shape.

Inspired by pop culture, 1960s furniture design broke with the purism of modern functionalism. The use of new materials freed furniture from the constraints of traditional structures and allowed designers to play creatively with shape and color.

Verner Panton wrote of his works: "I try to forget about existing examples, however well done, and find my own way to come to terms with the materials. The result rarely has four legs, not because I don't want to make a chair, but because working with new materials like wire mesh and polyester requires new shapes."

For more than two decades, the Vitra Design Museum has produced miniature replicas of design furniture that made history and the collection of industrial furniture design. The chairs are faithful replicas with precise details.
