TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE

The Paimio miniature chair of simple construction is highly effective because the curled ends of the seat and back function as springs that provide a degree of comfort previously unknown in wooden furniture.

An unusual piece in miniature that deserves to be admired in your home space as a collectible furniture chair.

This armchair accessory was also exceptionally suited for series production as it involved few components and little assembly work.

Aalto designed the Art 41 “Paimio” chair in 1930/31 for the Sanatorium of Paimio City, Finland and combined the functional ideas of Hauhaus with Scandinavian craft tradition and a strong sense of union with Nature.

Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) is without a doubt one of the biggest names in modern architecture and design. Aalto believed that good design should be part of and complement everyday life, so he created sensible products that would capture that idea. Vases are just a few of the organic shapes created from Aalto's design philosophy.

For more than two decades, the Vitra Design Museum has produced miniature replicas of design furniture that made history and the collection of industrial furniture design. The chairs are faithful replicas with precise details.
