Pedro Barateiro is a Portuguese artist with a remarkable international career, having participated in Biennial editions in Berlin and Sydney. He is one of the artists who has used archival images the most in his works, namely propaganda films commissioned by the Estado Novo, about engineering works, architecture, educational exhibitions or everyday life in the colonies. He pays special attention to the way in which documents, artefacts and artistic objects were presented throughout the 20th century.
