Publication in two volumes developed within the scope of the exhibition "The living Wedge", on display at the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art from October 15, 2016 to January 15, 2017.

Edited by the Serralves Museum and Kunsthalle Bern and published by Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther König, the book was conceived in close collaboration with the artist represented by the HIT Studio in Berlin.

Book 1, released in Porto on October 28, 2016, includes a preface by the directors of the two locations (Suzanne Cotter and Valérie Knoll) on the concept of the publication and images of all the works exhibited in Porto and Bern.

Book 2 (released on February 17, 2017, at the opening of the exhibition in Bern) features curatorial introductions by the two curators and an in-depth essay by Manfred Hermes, in addition to the list of works and bio-bibliography.

Michael Krebber (Cologne, Germany, 1954) is one of the most influential contemporary painters of all time. Exploring the ongoing exhaustion, withdrawal, engagement and renewal of painting, the artist's practice is deeply embedded in its history and materials, yet characterized by both the affirmation and negation of the medium.
