Performance na Esfera Portuguesa
Can performance art today participate, build and recreate public space? How can the worlds created by the performance reconfigure the political, ethical and aesthetic possibilities of the encounter with the other, of action in the world and of the relationship between the private and public spheres?
These are the fundamental questions that guide the 11 essays and 9 pages of artists gathered in this volume, published on the occasion of the centenary of the futurist conference by Almada Negreiros, the inaugural milestone of a possible history of Portuguese performance.
It includes contributions from Claire Bishop, Peggy Phelan, Bojana Cvejic and Ana Vujanovic, Eleonora Fabião, Christof Migone, Guillermo Gómez-Peña, Ana Bigotte Vieira, Sandra Guerreiro Dias, Ana Borralho and João Galante, among others.
