A pioneer of performance art in the 1960s, Joan Jonas is one of today's most highly regarded and influential artists.
The artist's experimental installations have been exhibited internationally, in which Jonas uses drawings, props and masks, as well as projections, videos and soundscapes for her works.
This catalog focuses on his exhibitions, film screenings and performances at the Tate Modern, Haus der Kunst and includes a number of carefully selected interviews about the interdisciplinary approach and artistic processes, as well as Jonas' influences and inspiration - ranging from short stories to from German fairies to Japanese theatre, from Aby Warburg's lectures to the artist's collaborations with Babette Mangolte and Jason Moran.
