Modus Operandi Catalog
Member Price
Taking the title of one of the works on display, Modus operandi brings together a selection of some works from the Serralves Art Collection and from his Collection of Artists' Books and Editions.
The starting point of the exhibition and the publication that accompanies and documents it is a collective album of printed works that the Director of the Museum, Philippe Vergne, found to be part of the core of works of the State Contemporary Art Collection (CACE) on deposit in Serralves.
The democratic impetus underlying Joseph Beuys' thinking that the album intended to honor (and which he himself illustrates) was the motto of the conversation between Vergne, curator of the exhibition, and independent curator Miguel von Hafe Pérez, around the public service mission of the museums, the modern configurations of public collections, and the genesis and specificities of the Serralves Collection, a collection of collections.
Includes approximately 250 illustrations.
