This edition accompanies the first extended exhibition of the Serralves collection, organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Serralves Foundation and the 10th anniversary of the Museum of Contemporary Art, open from 30 May to 27 September 2009.

The exhibition brought together approximately 400 works of art, by 75 Portuguese artists and 120 international artists.

All works are generously illustrated, accompanied by a biographical note from each of the participating artists and exhaustive commentary on many of the artworks on display, written in accessible language.
