Allgarve'08 Contemporary art focuses on the hotel as a unit of reformulation of building concepts and the interrogation of the territory.

It presents a relevant and current discussion on the mutual impact between tourism and architecture, through some of the most relevant projects of our time.

The book includes 63 hotels by Andre Balazs, Álvaro Siza, Jean Nouvel, Zaha Hadid, Graft, Paulo David, Gonçalo Byrne, Antonio Citterio, Atelier Bugio, Kango Kuma, Plasma Studio or José Júdice among others.

Also, a small introduction to the current context of tourism and large hotel chains, in numbers and graphs; the highlights are the sections on contemporary hotels and the contemporary literary anthology "Hotels as houses, houses as hotels" by Jorge Gomes Miranda Miranda (publication "Resgate", 69 pages), and the series of photographs "H 08" by Paulo Catrica .
