

This catalog was launched within the scope of the exhibition "Marwan: First Works 1962-1972" on display at the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art from July 10 to October 12, 2014.
A bilingual publication (Portuguese/English) that is amply illustrated with images of all the works on display.
It includes unpublished essays by Catherine David, curator of the exhibition, and Hannah Feldman, Director of the Department of Art History at Northwestern University and an expert on Middle Eastern art) and an interview with the artist conducted by Rasha Salti (independent curator and writer, who lives in Beirut, underlining the specificity of Marwan's creative process in relation to the history and aesthetics of the Arab and Western cultures that inform his work.
