Park Atlas is an unprecedented collection by the Serralves Foundation that aims to celebrate the biodiversity and natural heritage of the Serralves Park, one of Portugal’s most emblematic green spaces.

This publication takes on significant importance by documenting and celebrating the Park’s natural, ecological and landscape wealth through the presentation of different issues, providing a detailed look at its biodiversity and an integrated vision of the relationship between nature and art, which coexist harmoniously here. Each book will explore a distinctive group that inhabits the Park, seeking to bring the public closer to the natural narrative of this unique space.

Soil Organisms seeks to stimulate and promote interest and curiosity in soil biodiversity, through the photographic record compiled by the anthropologist and nature documentary photographer Jorge Sarmento and the scientific identification carried out by the biologist Sara Mendes, from the Centre for Functional Ecology – Science for People and the Planet, at the University of Coimbra. The sampling and associated documentation were carried out in Serralves Park, with organisms collected and photographed in their natural habitat resulting in this booklet, which invites readers to explore these organisms in situ through observation and identification.
