Biological invasion phenomena are today one of the most relevant and widespread processes of alteration of the biosphere and the number of invasive or potentially invasive exotic organisms that currently occur in our country is high. Many of these exotic species expanded autonomously and altered ecosystems more or less profoundly.

In this context, it is essential to disseminate the knowledge and experience accumulated by the studies carried out and define management strategies.

Seeking to contribute to this goal, this book is aimed at all those interested in biological invasions and who want to know more about their history, current reality and the challenges of their management in Portugal.
