The Leal Rios Collection, built up by brothers Manuel and Miguel Leal Rios since 2003, was partially deposited at Serralves in 2021. This collection of works is highly significant for several reasons: because it represents a true vision, because it brings to Serralves a collection of works by artists who were already part of the Collection, because it adds to the Serralves Collection artists and works that broaden and enrich perspectives on artistic production from periods when it was perhaps less fertile, namely the 2010s, and because it presents some works for the first time since they were acquired.

The book accompanying the exhibition brings together contributions from curators and authors Nicolas de Oliveira and Nici Oxley, collector Miguel Leal Rios, and Ricardo Nicolau, curator of the exhibition.
