Part of the project I/E, ongoing since 2015, in which Tarek Atoui captures the sounds of port cities — Athens, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Beirut or Porto — by recording their harbours’ industrial, human, and ecological activities, Serralves will produce the first two volumes especially dedicated to this ambitious and collaborative project that seeks to explore the various ways sound can be experienced.

Generously illustrated with new photographs and collages by photographer Alexandre Guirkinger, these publications will function as special archival issues that visually document the project. Includes contributions by Raimundas Malasauska, Eric La Casa and Maria Thalia Carras.
