This book is a reflection on cinema, based on twenty interviews and conversations with twenty-six authors who passed through Vila do Conde.

Therefore, it intends to be a document that discusses the transformations and trends of contemporary cinema in its different mutations, calling into question the very definition of what cinema is.

The result of this analysis also helps to clarify the identity of Curtas Vila do Conde in these last two decades, as a film festival contaminated by other artistic manifestations.

The book is complemented by personal reflections on the festival by film critic Augusto M. Seabra and American filmmaker Mike Hoolboom; and a critical history of the festival.
