Artist Edition limited to 200 copies, numbered and signed by Sara Bichão
This limited edition of 200 numbered copies was created in the context of the Lightless exhibition by artist Sara Bichão, presented at the Serralves Museum from June to November 2024.
Each copy is distinguished by its unique cover, featuring a hand-signed intervention by the artist herself, giving each book an exclusive and personal touch.
Designed by Dayana Lucas, with a reflective text by Inês Grosso, this work is a testament to Bichão’s creativity, reflecting the artist's connection to Serralves Park and the seasonal transformations that inspired the creation of this exhibition.
Sara Bichão (PT, 1986), an artist based in Lisbon, presents a new exhibition in the Contemporary Gallery of the Serralves Museum. Entitled Lightless (When there is no light), the exhibition brings together a group of works produced during a series of residencies carried out over more than a year. With the support of the museum and park team, Bichão transformed a small room in the Serralves Foundation's farm into a studio. In this space, the artist adapted to the unique environment of the museum and the seasonal changes that deeply shape our daily lives and our relationship with the surrounding nature. As with many of her projects, the artist embraced unpredictability, drawing inspiration and allowing herself to be guided by the experience of the place and its resources.
The works in this exhibition were mostly created using materials from Serralves Park, technical areas, as well as from a series of exhibitions organized in recent years by the Serralves Museum.
