This book was published on the occasion of the exhibition «Chama», with works by Júlio Pomar, Rita Ferreira and Sara Bichão, and curated by Sara Antónia Matos, held at the Atelier-Museu Júlio Pomar, between 15 February 2018 and 29 April of 2018.

«Rita Ferreira presented a set of more than fifty works on paper, presented for the first time as a wall, testing the impact of the set and the strength/chromatic relations between the parts. The work on raw canvas that she presents on the lower floor of the space is still new, dialoguing with the drawings of Júlio Pomar and the pieces of raw cloth by Sara Bichão.

Sara Bichão not only built the pieces for the exhibition almost entirely, but she launched herself in a work that crosses the space from lés to lés. Clareira, from 2018, alludes to the shape of a slingshot, of colossal size, whose elastic band (in raw cloth) is attached to the guardrail of the building, on the upper floor, and then stretched to the ground floor, leaving held together by two basalt stones weighing 300 kg each. Installed in an east-west direction, the piece is also composed of a concave stainless steel disc, placed on the upper floor of the building, above the windows, which captures the sunlight and spreads it around it. It is also worth mentioning the work that the author dedicates to Júlio Pomar: For JP, from 2018, a raw cloth rope, braided, which in its loops collects beach elements: reeds, charred sticks, stones, and objects plastic.

[...] I am led to say that the works of these two artists are made from different observation times. Sara Bichão's seems to be made and to happen between layers, asking for approximation and removal, back-and-forth dives, like Júlio Pomar's canvases, through which each stratum of meaning is revealed. Rita Ferreira's seems to ask for a confrontation of a single impact, a clash with the whole composition where each fragment, each chromatic part, exerts its force of attraction. [...]»
