Third Drawer Down Studio has created a set of four fine bone china plates in collaboration with Louise Bourgeois’ studio, The Easton Foundation. The imagery featured on each plate comes from Bourgeois’ fabric book Ode à l’Oubli (2004), composed of collages made from fragments of her old clothing and household items.
Each plate is sold individually, gift-boxed, and includes a postcard.
Louise Bourgeois was a French-American artist who gained recognition later in her long career. Throughout her life, she created abstract sculptures, drawings, and prints charged with deep psychological meaning. She lived to the age of 98. Third Drawer Down first collaborated with Bourgeois in 2008 for her retrospective at the Tate Museum. Since then, we’ve maintained an ongoing partnership with her estate, The Easton Foundation, to produce a range of objects inspired by her work, available here.
Since its founding in 2003, Third Drawer Down Studio has collaborated with over 150 contemporary artists to create licensed, everyday objects designed to bring art into daily life.
