'Vulcão looking at the plate' is the first of a set of 9 visual poems, with text "A Palavra Lava" by António Barros, and is an integral part of "Vulcânico Lavrador". A special edition that was launched as part of the national commemoration in 2021 of the Centenary of the birth of the poet and artist António Aragão.

António Barros, born in Funchal, studied at the University of Coimbra and at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona. He worked in the 70s with Wolf Vostell, Alberto Carneiro and José Ernesto de Sousa. He participated in numerous group exhibitions and held several solo exhibitions. His artistic work is represented in the collection of the Serralves Museum.
