Oscar Murillo: Frequencies
Member Price
This publication presents the works in Oscar Murillo's Frequencies collection.
Frequencies is a long-term international art project conceived by Turner Prize-winning artist Oscar Murillo and produced by Clara Dublanc.
Started in 2013, the project sent raw pieces of canvas to schools around the world with the sole requirement that they be displayed on desks for a semester.
Over the past decade, the project has visited over 400 schools in more than 35 countries and affixed artists' canvases to classroom desks, inviting students to mark, draw and write freely on their surfaces. The canvases, with their accumulated intentional and unintentional marks, are collected after about six months of "settling" in the classroom. The growing archive has so far collected more than 50,000 canvases from all corners of the world.
