Exclusive tote bag from the exhibition Meteorisations, by Filipa César et al., featuring a contemporary design that brings together art, critical thinking, and the exhibition’s visual identity.

The quote “We are a Society of Dead and Living”, by Amílcar Cabral, evokes memory, history, and collective struggle, reminding us that the present is built from the voices, resistances, and legacies of the past.

A simple and striking object, ideal to send, gift, or keep as a collectible piece linked to the exhibition.

The exclusive merchandising collection of the exhibition Meteorisations brings the main themes of the artist’s work — memory, resistance, and territory — into daily life. The concept is based on emblematic phrases from Filipa César’s practice, including a quote by Amílcar Cabral, and is translated into a minimalist design using only three colors present in the exhibition’s visual identity. Tote bags, notebooks, and postcards turn these references into practical and contemporary objects, allowing you to carry visual and conceptual fragments of the exhibition beyond the museum.

Meteorisations, Filipa César's first anthological exhibition in Portugal, brings together more than fifteen years of research, production and collaborations.

The exhibition presents films, objects and documents that evoke historical events such as Portuguese anti-fascist disobedience and Guinean anti-colonial resistance, drawing on audiovisual archives from the period of liberation struggles, reflections on the mangrove, the politics of optics and weaving, and the agropoetic thinking of Amílcar Cabral.

The title refers to a geological concept used by Cabral to think about the relationship between territory, history, and transformation, guiding the exhibition's trajectory and the way images, sounds, and memories are presented. Meteorisations articulates different times and materials, inviting the public to reflect on processes and poetics of resistance and their use in the present.
