This is the first exhibition to bring together a selection of the projects by Álvaro Siza for museums and exhibition spaces. Siza is the most internationally prestigious Portuguese architect. He has built projects in several different countries and has been awarded the major international prizes for architecture, among which should be highlighted the Pritzker Prize and the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennial.
The exhibition is presenting eighteen projects by Álvaro Siza, among which eight have been built or are under-going construction, bringing together sketches, project drawings, working models and final models, as well as projects presented in virtual reality, photography and video. Throughout the presentation of these projects one may discover the evolution of the concepts of the museum that can be seen in Siza’s work, questioning them as challenges to the architecture and the art of our time.
