Jacques Gréber - Urbanist and Garden Designer

Jacques Gréber, architect graduated from the École des beaux-arts in Paris in 1909, exerted a significant part of his career in the American continent (USA and Canada) in the context of urban planning and design of gardens but also in Europe, especially in France. Their draft parks and gardens mark somehow the culmination of the gardens of the great estates / the 5th of American industrial inspired by great classic French garden in the manner of André Le Nôtre. Its intervention in Serralves, dated 1932, can be considered a last example. In 1937, Gréber was the chief architect of the Paris International Exhibition. The conference took place in the Auditorium of the Serralves Foundation on 3 and 4 November 2011.
