Jacques Gréber - Urbanist and Garden Designer
Jacques Gréber, an architect who graduated from the École des beaux-arts in Paris in 1909, exerted a significant part of his career in the North American continent (USA and Canada) in planning and designing gardens, and also in Europe, especially in France. His projects of parks and gardens to a certain extent marked the culmination of the gardens of the great estates / farms of American industrialists, inspired by the classic French garden, in the style of André Le Nôtre. His intervention in Serralves, in 1932, can be considered an example of the latter. In 1937, Gréber was the chief architect of the Paris International Exhibition. The seminars were held in the Auditorium of the Serralves Foundation, on 3-4 November 2011.
